Create Panel Footprint with Item Balloon

Is there a way to create custom panel footprints for PLCs, breakers, etc. that already have an Item Number balloon as part of the footprint?  I've created a library of footprints to use in my layouts but it's an extra step for each footprint to add the item number balloon and position it where I want.

So I'd like to find a way to include that as part of the footprint itself with a default value of "XX" as the item number.  Then when I run AERESEQUENCE after being finished the the panel layout, every item number will update and I'm done.  I don't have to go through the annoying task of placing an item number balloon next to every single component on the layout.

I was able to get it to work to where I insert the footprint, the item balloon with "XX" is there.  But that isn't actually linked to the item number of the footprint itself.  This would be a nice time saver if possible.

Add the attribute P_ITEM to your footprint. Draw a circle around it.

I'd been trying it with B_ITEM since that's what you get when you explode the item number balloon.  Just now I tried it with P_ITEM like you said and the result was that it only showed a number if I manually entered it.  It isn't linked to the item number of the symbol itself.

Furthermore, if I manually entered a number in the P_ITEM and then change the actual item number of the footprint symbol, that P_ITEM is blanked out.  No number is displayed on the layout.

It should work.

I just added the P_ITEM attribute to some footprints, and resequenced the item numbers, making it start at "10".  All "balloons" updated automatically.

Can you share the block you're trying to get to work?
