Hi,
I've been using AcadE for a while and have picked up many quirks, its time i asked for help.
okay so my drawings are in mm (metric) with 'drawing properties->drawing format' set to 'inch-scaled-to-mm' and I'm trying to insert a connector, this normally works fine. today when I do it for the first time on startup, the connector size is massive (default, on purpose with default sizes in insertion window) - GREAT!
now the problem:
when i delete that, then input my size settings
then it goes crazy and inserts the right size connector but WRONG size pins 😞
if i input as i initially did (using default sizes), then every thing is massive , connector and pins. Only exiting and re-openning the file restarts this cycle.
I know i can change the sizes but i want to make the default insertion work fine again
please help. Thanks
(nb: could this be related to the software picking up from my 1st symbol the size to use going forward? and if i delete it, it reverts to inch sized pins ? )
I can confirm the problem.
I tried with both 'mm Full Size' and 'Inch scaled to mm' and got the same result.
Checking the text size gave me 3mm high text in 'mm Full size' and 76.2mm high text in 'Inch scaled to mm'.
When I went up to ten in all the size settings, the text stayed at 3mm (using the 'mm full size' dwg setting.
This is the size of the attributes in the blocks used for the parametric build of the connector.
The blocks in question are cn family of blocks in the library you are using.
For example, the first block in a vertical wire connecter is the Vcn1_1JP or the Vcn1_1PJ depending on the orientation of the connector.
To change the text size, you would need to edit ALL the cn family of blocks or just CTRL-Left Click all the attributes in question and change the size in the properties once the connector is inserted.

thanks for the reply,
hmmm what you makes alot of sense but I'm still wondering why is it that it works sometimes, for example , It is working now (0_o)
I choose block editter, and its called 'HCN1_14P_213E8' - default sizes are working now, so surely its in the same family as you mentioned?
I think a way of getting this to work for me is to activate another project (that has the correct sizes already), place a connector, then activate my project, then place. at this point it seems to behave.
also the other less elegant solution is to --> project panel->utilities-> change attribute sizes-> select the appropriate size-> select and OK. this only works for me becuase ALL my attributes are the same size.
But the other problem is that when he above issue arises - the font is also different!
Edit: the block text for terminals are 2.54" , so with 'inches scaled to mm' this should comeup with 2.54mm on my drawing. which it is right now. All seems correct - Weird.
