Component Tag Formatting with %S

Hello everyone we are looking for some help with Component Tag Formatting.

Below is the format we are trying to use for the Component Tag Format.  But the %S does not show when inserting a component.

ACAD_COMPONENT_TAG_FORMAT.PNG

But when we use that same format in the Tag Format Family Override then it works.

Please let me know if there is a way to fix this issue.  Having to override every component is adding significant time to creating drawings.

Thanks,

Hi there,

The %S is looking for a sheet number.  The sheet number is set in the drawing properties.  How have you inserted sheet and/or reference numbers on your drawing before you insert components?

The screen shot is sheet 2, line ref 31, when the connector is inserted it takes on the tag P231.

Good luck

Please mark as a solution if this works for you, kudos are always welcome

Your project is set up to use "%S%N%X%F", while your DRAWING is set up to user "%N%X%F" (Check Drawing properties for your drawing)

If you want to apply the project properties to All/Some drawing sheets, select them all in the project manager, right-click an select "Apply Project Defaults"
