Change Wire Numbers off one terminal point in a schematic block

Just a question, but I am building a block where one of the terminals has two different wire numbers coming off it.

I've set it up like this:

Capture30.PNG

so that I can have two separate wires coming off the same point.

My issue is that the wire that is supposed to come in on X1TERM05 has a wire number value of "1N" and the one that's supposed to leave from X8TERM05 has a wire number value of "P9102-1"

However, when I insert the block, it treats the two wires as being on the same network and gives them the same wire number. Is there any way to change this?

I believe this is happening because both of your X?TERMs reference the same terminal number (05). I'm pretty sure that if you just change one of them to X?TERM99 (or some other number not in use) that ACADE will stop making the wires wear the same number. I don't think you need another TERM attribute, just change one of the X?TERMs.
Hope this helps,

Jim

The reason the X?TERM?? numbers reference the same terminal number is because the two wires will be coming from the same terminal. When we do a To/From, both wires will indicate that one of the connection points is TERM05. If I were to change one of them to X?TERM99 (as you suggest), the To/From would indicate that the wire is coming from TERM99 when no TERM99 exists. The person wiring it up using the To/From report will say "Hey, this terminal doesn't exist! Where do I wire this?" That's wasted time.

However... I may have stumbled upon a solution.

I'm just adding another TERM value (in this case, TERM13), matching the default values of both (which will never change), changing TERM13 to Invisible, and making sure the X8TERM05 now says X8TERM13.

This will give me the effect I need.

Perfect.

Thanks for the involuntary inspiration, jseefdrumr!

You're welcome, glad I could help!

I've used the method I described with great success here -- but we don't use the to/from report. It's good to know that I will be facing some issues if we ever decide to try and implement it.
