Building a custom fuse symbol

I am wanting a fuse symbol as shown below with following information and

the right hand wire number in the fuse.  Can a wire number be placed in a

symbol & what is minimum number of attributes that need to be used for this

symbol?.  Is there any wat to associate terminal information with this fuse symbol?

Thank you,

The minimum needed for a symbol that looks like your picture would be

  • TAG1 (set to visible)
  • MFG (set to invisible)
  • CAT (set to visible)
  • FAMILY (set to invisible)
  • RATING1 (set to visible)
  • wire connection attributes...

And I suspect there's a way to get the multiple catalog to display but I don't recall what it is. Maybe a search of the forum will help with that. Alternately, use DESC1, or RATING2, to just type it in.

Then your wire connections: assuming you do a left connection called TERM01, and a right connection called TERM02. In Symbol Builder those should also put in some invisible attributes, X4TERM01, and X1TERM02. Later on, the software will do updates to those attributes and they will end up containing the wire numbers. So all you have to do is change the properties of X1TERM02 so that it is a decent size, and set it to visible. Once the wires are connected, you'll get the wire number to show up.

Would that mess up my right connection point if I move TERM02 inside the fuse box?

You can put TERM02 anywhere. If you meant X1TERM02, then yes, moving it will change the connection point. From the appearance in your picture, I would guess that if you change the justification to Middle Right, it might work out that you can fit it within the rectangle and preserve the connection point. I hope it works out!

justification to Middle Right will not pull that attribute far enough and the field will not allow me to add blanks

spaces to move it farther.  Is there a way move the attribute text and leave the end point in place?

Alternative possibilty, Maybe copy that attribute if the copy would populate with the right information.

Thank you,

You can try duplicating the wire connection attribute if you have time to test it out. Personally I would not even try, because I assume it would cause trouble. Maybe it is fine, though.

I'm afraid I'm out of any further ideas. You can move the attribute left and allow the wire to protrude into the symbol, and perhaps play around with a small wipeout to cover the end of the wire, but that's what I would do - live with its imperfections and call it close enough.

Here is what I did.

I made a solid circle to mask out the wire but I still have an overrun on right side of the fuse.

Maybe I could live with that.

See below.

Another problem.

How to I align attributes when I am in symbol builder.

When I try to move them with grips it seems like they jumper all over the place.

Thank you,

Oh yes,

  I tried using wipe out.

  It does not work.
