Bill of Material not showing all item number

Hi,

I have an issue with my bill of material, see picture attached, it does not show all the item numbers.

How I worked:

1) Made all the schematic drawings

2) Made all the panel layouts

3) Created Bill of Material (automatic report)

4) Run the "Resequence Item Numbers" tool

5) added balloons to my panel layout, they all show up correctly

6) Update my Bill of material

After I remarked that it didn't work properly, I verified that the item numbers are properly entered at ever device (they are) and deleted the bill of material and placed it fresh via manual placement on the drawing - no success...

Any ideas?

Well there's definitely something weird going on here.

Have you tried AEREBUILDDB? (rebuilds the database) If not, I would run that command, then item resequence, then the BOM report, in that order. Be sure that when you resequence, you choose to process all manufacturers and items (don't select 'blank items only').

If that doesn't do anything, we may need to look at your XDATA, and make sure that all the components have the item number entered there. This is done at Project>Other Tools>Xdata List. This tool lets you view the (normally hidden) xdata for an object. The item number should be listed there, and it should match the value you see in the balloon after it's placed. (For more info, see 'to Work With Xdata on AutoCAD Electrical Components' in HELP.) Xdata is kept at both schematic and panel representations of a component.

So, try the rebuild thing, and if that doesn't work, use the Xdata command to poke around and see if anything stands out. Get back to us with the results and if you're not fixed yet we'll keep at it.

Great! As a general bit of advice - at least it's how I personally do things - I think it's a good idea to always rebuild the database before performing ANY project-level command or update. This also includes the terminal strip editor and title block updates, as well as AECOPYPROJECT.

In fact, now that I think about it, I probably run that command more than a dozen times a day. (It also gives me a good excuse to go grab coffee real quick lol)
