AutoCAD Electrical vs Fusion 360 Electronics

Hi All,

 

A simple question for you all! I am currently using Fusion 360 Electronics for making schematics and generating PCB's. I'm interested to know what the main difference is between Fusion 360 Electronics and Autocad Electrical. My initial thought is that AutoCAD is more for Power Electronics and Fusion 360 is more for circuit boards but I could of course be completely wrong here. Would be happy to hear some input on this.

AcadE is mainly directed against panel builders and the likes, and as you've figured out, not against electronics/pcb's.
Fusion 360 Electronics is competing against Autodesk Eagle for your attention 🙂

In AutoCAD Electrical, wires, cables, harnesses, and pipes are used for connections between components. Wire is assigned a color, cross section, number of the electric circuit, etc. Cable is assigned a cable’s name, colors and section lived, etc. This information is used in reports (text documents), for example, the connection table, the cable magazine, etc.

Other parameters are set for PCB conductors, such as the width of the conductor, the layer of PCB, the size of the transition hole, and so on. These parameters can not be assigned in the AutoCAD Electrical.

AutoCAD Electrical is used for designing objects where wires, cables, harnesses, and pipes are used for connections between components, but not printed conductors.
