AutoCAD Electrical 2019 "Database Access Error"

Hi All,

      Recently I migrated from AutoCAD Electrical 2012 to AutoCAD Electrical 2019.

      I am experiencing a "Database Access Error" when I go Lookup in the Insert/Edit component, I have also attached the error screenshot for the same.

    I have also used the migration utility to update the catalog database.

   Your help will be very much appreciated.

Even if you've used the migration utility to convert the old database, something can still be wrong. Invalid characters in the manufacturer names etc.

If you could zip up the database and share it, I could take a look.

I did not have any problems using that database.

Do you have that database on a shared server? Could it be that AcadE is using the wrong file?

If the file is on the server, rename the default_cat.mdb that you can find in "My Documents", and try again.

I ran the migration utility as well, and got a database that was significantly smaller than yours?

   Thanks for your reply.

   I am not sharing the catalog database on the server.

   I am still facing the same issue when I click on the 'lookup", also I have noticed that when just right click in the drawing I can't see the options as copy circuit, copy component etc.

Can you please help me on the said issue.

Right click on your project, and select settings.
Can you make a screen shot of that dialog?

Do you see any menu at all when right clicking on a component? Any error messages on the command line?

Hi,

   Apologies on my delayed response.

  When I right click on the my project I get a "ADS Request Error" message as per he attached screen shot.

  Lastly I have also attached a screenshot of error message when I click on "Catalog Lookup".

To me, it seems like you have a corrupt installation.
I'd try to do a clean uninstall, and the reinstall.
Before importing any old settings, I'd check that everything works first.

Hi Trond,

    Hope you are doing well.

     As per your instruction I re-installed AutoCAD Electrical 2019 and my issue was resolved, I also remigrated my old settings and my "Database Access Error" issue was resolved. Everything is working smooth as of now. I have also attached some screen shots FYI.

  I do appreciate your help and time in this regards.
