Autocad Electrical 2017 could open mechnical drawings?

I would like to know if Autocad Electrical 2017 could open mechnical drawings, thank you.

Mechanical's DWGs are exactly the same as Electrical's drawings in that they are standard ACAD files.

However, Electrical will have some small problems with the various objects used by Mechanical.

An Object Enabler from Autodesk will allow Electrical to open them with no problems at all.

There are no object enablers for Mechanical. Make sure the drawing is saved with the setting PROXYGRAPHICS set to 1, and tha PROXYSHOW is set to 1 on the computer where you open the drawing. This will make sure you can see the drawing and its custom objects as they're meant to be displayed.

To remove the custom data, some of the verticals has s EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command. This "explodes" all the custom objects into AutoCAD line work.
