autocad electric 2016 and compatibility with win 10

Hello. Some members at tenforums.com (including me) found that cannot install autocad electric 2016 in windows 10, because it asks for net 4.5. As all we know, windows 10 have 4.6 alreay installed and is inpossilble to instal 4.5, because its part of the whole OS. So when trying to install 4.5 it says that you already have a newer version of net framework. Any possible solutions?

Windows 10 is not available yet, not until late July, so there is no support for this product on windows 10,

maybe just maybe when SP1 comes out there maybe support but for now as Win 10 has not been released there is no support.

Thanks

Ian

Hello Ryan,

We are aware of this case and it is due to change in DOTNET version in Win 10 OS. However engineering team is investigating the case. As part of article, it doesnt claim to support Win 10 immediately. It mentions "Windows 10 is not yet an officially supported operating system across the Autodesk product line" and this statement is so far true to the date till we resolve issues.

Hello Yves,

The workaround to install *ACADE 2016* on Win 10.

  1. Invoke the setup directory in ADMIN command line mode.
  2. Type following command instead of invoking setup.exe from directory

Setup.exe /c ACADE:ACAD_CHECK_DOTNET=0 /c ACADE_LP:ACAD_CHECK_DOTNET=0 /c ACADECONTENT:ACAD_CHECK_DOTNET=0 /c ACADECONTENT_LP:ACAD_CHECK_DOTNET=0

This will disable DOTNET check inbuilt in the setup.ini and will initiate installation.

For now this is still a workaround. Do let us know if this works for you.
