I am a new user and am getting this error (autocad fatal error unhandled access violation reading 0xccea9c68 Exception at ea059342h) after I exit C3D 2012. It started happening around the time I was playing with dgn to dwg. I have tried to use Mapimport but that was an unknown command. I was then Saving the dgn to dwg using Microstation and then opening the resulting file.
Now if I just open C3D and immediately close it I get this error. I have also seen a similar error ...0xcc639c68 Exeption at e9989342h.
I prefer not to reinstall since I have many custom files from a client that are copied to various C3D and ACAD folders on my C: drive.

A repair of your installation through the Control Panel should work. If necessary just Google it.

Google --> Repair of installation, Civil 3D
Try this fix at your own peril. It worked for me, I had a similar issue with C3D 2011, but it should work here.
Edit the registry key.
Go to Start-->Run-->type in 'regedit' and navigate to the following:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\autodesk\AutoCAD\R18.0\ACAD-8000:409\WebServices\CommunicationCenter]
@=""
"LastUpdateTimeLoWord"=dword:4be447d0
Changing the dword to 00000000 solves the problem.
(Usual registry editing warnings apply)

If you haven't already, I would suggest you install Update 1 for CIvil 3D 2012. If you continue to run into a crash after that, let me know which email address you used when you submitted a CER and I will look up the crash.
