Unable to open file explorer window when select open or save from file menu

I have autocad civil 3d 2008 in my pc. From last 2 days I got a different problem i.e. when I am selecting open / save command from File menu graphical file select explorer is not opening just message in the command window . Previously I used to select files using graphical file explorer.

Any body please help me on this one.

If you get to the point where it's asking you for the file path and you realize you need to reset FILEDIA but you don't want to have to cancel the command. Enter a Tilde [~]. That will bring up the file dialog box temporarily and let you complete the command.

Can't answer that - But if you add these lines to [or create the file in your search path] Acaddoc.lsp. It should help.

(SETVAR "CMDDIA" 1)
(SETVAR "FILEDIA" 1)

Some routines within Civil 3D change parameters, particulary the filedia, and if the program crashes the routine cannot change it back to the way it was.

This happened on my boss' pc today and I found your "filedia" set back to 1, fixed the issue. Thanks, because I'm the one that seems to fix his issues.
