Set Surface Triangulation Limits

Hello,

I have a good corridor and a good surface at an intersection.

When i rebuild the corridor it produces triangulation that is obviously wrong.  for example it will connect the Northern limit of the intersection to the Eastern limit with multiple triangulation lines.  No big deal but I have to manually delete the lines every time.

Is there a setting so that the surface triangulation only looks to connect points within a certain range?

Thanks!

Hello,

There are two main ways to limit a corridor surface boundary.

1. Use corridor boundary. See attached image "bo corridor.png"

2. Use Surface definition to limit triangles to certain parameters:

     - Maximum angle between adjacent TIN lines: this is the most powerful, I always use this, set it to about 100(g)-110(g) should work nicely. No need to use corridor extends as boundary. See "bo surface build.png"

     - Use maximum triangle length. Depending on your corridor stations frequency. If you have a frequency of 5m, use 10-20m maximum length.

You can also check to use Links as brake lines and add a Overhang correction. This will create a better surface. See "tips.png"
