Data Link for MS Word?

Hello all,

Just curious if there is a way to data link a word document like there is for excel?  I have written a legal description but my boss will need to review it.  So is there a way that the Word doc can be edited so the text in C3D will be updated automatically?

Thanks,

Yes, just create your Word document like normal. Save it. Keep the document open, select the text and copy it to the clipboard. Switch to ACAD and click on the little arrow beneath the paste button on the ribbon. Select paste special and choose 'paste link'. That will create a dynamic link to the word document. Let me know if you can't figure it out and I'll make a screen capture.

That works! Thank you very mych.  Do you know if there is a way I cant make it transparent?  I have some text work from AutoCadd that encroaches into the "white box" around the Word Doc

Sorry - that would be a great feature but I've never been able to figure that one out. If it is in paperspace, you might try unchecking the "draw paperspace objects last" in the plo dialog box

It actually is, I will have to give that a shot.  Thank you for your help!
