Civil 3D Performance Degradation (2013)

Hi all,

I'm using Civil 3D 2013 and it's taking longer and longer to open files, purge, print, etc. I know all about the hot fix for 2014-2018 found here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-civil-3d/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticl...

but that is not for 2013.

Then I found this article:

http://civil-community.autodesk.com/2017/08/how-to-fix-civil-3d-performance-degradation/

It is about the hot fix I linked to above and says "a hotfix that addressed the issue on Civil 3D 2014-2017 and backport it to 2013 as well by replacing one lose file."

Does anyone know how to backport this fix to 2013? There is no further information in the article and I cannot find anything after hours of searching online.

Thanks so much

-Dan K.

I think you would follow the instructions HERE. Replacing the AeccNetwork.dbx file. Please make a backup of the original file in case you need to replace it.

I know about this hotfix, it's the first link I posted but it does not apply to Civil 3D 2013, only 2014 onward. The second article I linked to casually states that this fix can be backported to 2013 but gives no instructions on how to do so.

What I was saying was that if I had to try and do this. I would take the .dll from the 2014 fix and try replacing the one in the 2013 installation.

I gave that a go and it almost worked. My drawing loaded up really fast and I got all excited thinking it was fixed. Then the error messages started coming, and they didn't stop, and then the program crashed. Alas.

That's unfortunate. But why I recommended to make a backup. If I see anything else about it. I'll let you know.
