associate a template

How do I associate MY drawing template to a drawing not created by me? I prefer to use my drawing template. I tried to copy the other drawing into my blank template, but the pipe profiles did not copy over. Don't know why, the surface file copied fine.

Thanks

While in the drawing that has the missing styles/settings, go to the Manage ribbon and click the Import button in the Styles panel and then you will want to select your template drawing.

Here are more specific directions: LINK.
