Rename C3D Objects at Command Line

Does anyone know of a way to rename a C3D Object at the Command line?

For instance if I have a Surface named "Existing 01", I would like to be able to rename it to "Existing 02" at the command line without using Toolspace. The same for Assemblies and Pipe Networks.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

How do envision selecting the object(s) to rename? By name? Picking on screen?

By Name is what I was hoping for.

This sounds like something that could be accomplished using a custom lisp routine. Personally I use a 3rd party app to rename Civil 3D objects. It uses dialogs, not command lines, but might get you where you want to go without having to write a custom lisp routine.

Find and Replace Name and Description

You could also email the programmer, Steve Hill with Red Transit Consultants, LLC to ask if he can add command line access to the app.
