Project CogoPoints to ProfileView: Not Possible?

I haven't been able to find much of anything on this except a post from several years ago that Partha mentioned this not be exposed, so maybe I'm barking up a non-existent tree.  This seems like such an obvious candidate for customization, I would just be surprised if it were not available.

I tried using the following, with the CogoPoint's handle (just guessing, from a comment seen in a related post) as HandleIntPtr:

CvDb.ProfileProjection.Create(GetType(CvDb.CogoPoint), HandleIntPtr, True)

This sort of ran, without any apparent problem, except that no projections were created.

Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
