Drawing ctb, color assignment, standards

Hello all!

So I am facing an interesting dilemma here. I am a young designer, who recently started a job at this architecture office. This place is a mess. 

Somehow I became the source of widsom here and suddenly I am expected to set CAD standards, templates and all that for the office. Which is insane, because I am not sure I know how to yet. So overall I am looking for any supplementary information that any of you think will be useful. 

Currently I have set up a number of drawings templates for our office. It has layers with coordinating ctbs and all. Attached is the reference img.

One of the managers has come up with an idea of not using standard yellow/red/cyan/green/magenta colors, but using whatever he thinks is appropriate color scheme (shades of grey, browns and whatever). 

What sucks in this situation is that he wants this to be an office wide standard, which sucks. 

 

I was wondering if there is some kind of plug-in or way to have different pen settings for the working files. So let's say while one works in the file, they can have an interim interface that takes standard colors (yellow/green/etc) and converts them into greys/browns, but ultimately the real color and pen settings do not need to change.

 

Thoughts?

My advise would be to use .STB plot styles and use any color(s) you want.
