Xref Layer won't show Layout

I have an xref'd detail which is inserted into model space of a drawing sheet file.

The detail notes and their leaders will not show in paper space. The xref is named xDetails. The note layer is called A-anno-dims. The  layer is turned on, and is not frozen in the viewport or anywhere else I can see.

I've attached the xref and the sheet.

What am I doing wrong? Incredibly frustrating.

Here's a screenshot showing the layer on, and not frozen.

So you posted different DWG files than the ones in the screenshot and you want help how exactly?
Good grief 😉

The annotation scale assigned to the Multileaders in xDetails.dwg is 1 1/2" = 1'-0".

In A201.dwg, the equivalent scale is named 1-1/2" = 1'-0".  When you attached the external reference, AutoCAD determined that 1 1/2" = 1'-0" did not exist in the host file, and created/assigned 1 1/2" = 1'-0"_XREF as the annotation scale of those Multileaders, in the externally referenced instance.  That is why they do not show in your viewport, which was assigned the 1-1/2" = 1'-0" scale.

Since the "_XREF" assignment was already made, simply editing the name of the scale in A201.dwg, to replace the hyphen with a space, was not enough to get the Multileaders to show.  I had to detach the external reference, then reattach it.  As the names of the scales matched at that point, the "_XREF" variant was not created and the Multileaders show in the viewport.

Revised A201.dwg attached.

Thanks David!

That worked, and I didn't even have to reattach the xref either.

Unfortunately, the linetype problem I was having earlier came back.

My insulation batts are showing as dotted lines again.

I looked in my pats folder, and linetype patterns are there, but Autocad is looking for .lin files, and mine are all .pat files.

Not sure what to do about this now.lin no pats.png
