wood hatch

Hello. I've upgraded from 2005 to 2015 and my wood hatch pattern does not look the same...jagged rather than smooth. It is an out of the box hatch pattern (wood 2 I believe). I've attached a pdf...on the right, the pattern I used to get (I cut & pasted it in from an older 2005 dwg). Left is choppy. And when I try to "match properties" in the hatch dialogue box, it doesn't let me pick on it...does not recognize it. Any ideas? Thanks.

The hatch you mention is not an out of the box hatch pattern.

It must be a custom hatch

Interesting. I have Wood1 through Wood5 in my hatch patterns that came with ACA2015. I have not created any custom patterns.

Post the Autodesk PAT file that contains your Wood1-5 hatches, I'm curious why mine doesn't come with them.

Even better if you can also post that 2005 Dwg file with the problem present too: then we can truly dig deeper to find the problem (assuming yours isn't a graphics card problem that isn't easily fixed with changing LINESMOOTHING, LINEFADING and GRAPHICSCONFIG settings in 2015).

Thanks. I never thought about the graphics card. Mine does not allow hardware acceleration and I am considering upgrading, however, smooth line display is checked under graphicsconfig.

I've attached a screenshot of some of the hatch patterns. I also believe this started happening on my 2005 ADT, a few months before switching to 2015.

Started while still using ADT2005? So this is really not a ACA2015 problem then.

Your screenshots are of no value, sorry: real files so we can really see what's going on on our ACA2015s. Post the PAT file(s) where you get your wood patterns from, and post a DWG file that has the problem you describe. We need to look for ourselves.

As has been noted repeatedly, so far it appears your 'wood' patterns in 2005 do not exist in 2015, but the problem could be simpler or more complex. Hard to tell from your uninformative screenshots.

Thanks in advance if you do post useful files. Good luck if not.

Try moving the hatch origin closer to the hatched area. It looks like the discombobulation that can happen whe hatching far from the hatch origin.

ADT 2014 came with patterns for WOOD1 through WOOD5 so they should probably be still available in 2015
