I using Autocad Architecture 2016
I'm having an issue with Window Tag. I created my Window tag with : Window Name, Width, Hight, Sillhight and Number in a Multi view block. I used it for so many projects and It worked very well.
But in the last week, when I tag a window and it takes a lot of time, It takes 5 minutes to show up a tag. Then, the result show the "Formula of width". The Window Schedule show the same issue in the column: "Formula of width" and it takes a lot of time too.
In Formula-property-definition (Style Manager) it show "formula of width". In normal it show only Width of the window.
When I tag a door or door schedule with Door Name, Width, hight, and Number but it still wolking well.
When I open my drawing in a nother computer, the Window tag or Schedule working well again.
How can't I fix this issue? I insert 4 photos to show my problem.
Thanks
Only three of your screenshots came through (there may be a limit of three attachments per post).
The display of the entire formula, with data entered into the property references, is an indication of a failure in the evaluation process. It is much easier to figure out why the formula is failing with an actual file in hand. Can you post a sample file that exhibits the failed condition? If you can also include a second sample file where things are working as expected, that may be helpful as well.
Does your WindowObjects Property Set Definition apply to more object types than just Windows? (Perhaps Door/Window Assemblies are also included, which is why you are trying to test for GlassThickness to weed out Door/Window Assemblies?)
For what it is worth, you really do not need to test for the "IsWindow" condition in your Width formula property. As written, your formula returns the value of the CornerOpeningWidth-COW1xCOW2 property if the Window is a Corner Window, and it returns Width(Auto) in all other cases. The following does the same...
If UCase( "[IsCornerWindow]" ) Then RESULT = "[CornerOpeningWidth-COW1xCOW2]" Else RESULT = "[Width(Auto)]" End If
...provided that [IsCornerWindow] and [CornerOpeningWidth-COW1xCOW2] are correctly created property references.
In any event, I was able to create a working Width property based on the screen shots you posted. I cannot see all of the settings in your file, so I may not have set things up the same way as you did.
Can you reply to this thread and attach a DWG file that has sample content, including your Property Set Definitions and Schedule Table Style, that has the formula property error in it? That will be best way for me or anyone else here to sort out what the problem is.
I believe you have to respond through your web browser to get the attachment to come through. Replying to an email notification and attaching the DWG file in the reply email may not work.
Hi David_W._Koch, Thanks for your help!
Happy New Year 2018 Everyone!
I attach my dwg file with Window Tag and Window Schedule. My computer show Formula width of window, it's not show width of window.
I have two "PrintScreen" Pictures insert behind to show my problem.
But, when I re-open my dwg file in another Computer (same Autocad Architecture 2016) it working well again. The Window tag and Schedule show : width of the window.
I believe, when you open this dwg, the issue won't show up!
Bytheway, I'm an Vietnamese Architect, so, My Window Schedule in Vietnamese Language.
As you suspected, when I opened your file, the property values all resolved correctly, and I did not get the expanded formula in the Schedule Table.
As it is only happening on one computer for you as well, my best guess is that something is not working correctly on that computer. Have you tried doing a repair installation on that machine? Make sure you have backed up any customizations that are unique to that computer before doing so.
If the repair installation does not fix the issue, then a reinstallation may be worth a try. (Both the repair installation and the reinstallation are done from the control panel.) If the reinstallation fails, then a clean uninstallation and full installation may be in order.
