Underlaying Floor plan (xref) on RCP autocad and plot in grey colour

I would like to know how to Underlaying Floor plan with furniture on RCP autocad while the floor plan is xref so that we know the location of lighting fixture is on the correct location.

Also, I can plot the drawing with some furniture in lines to be grey colour (thin lines) and some loose furniture to be dashed line as enclosed image.

Is that I have do different layer of fixture and set the line properties in Layer Properties Manager in grey and dashed line? Or, please advise other solution. Thank you.

I assume you tried to thaw/turn on that xref layer independently, then set it's color to whatever you want in LAYER command? If you are fighting your own VISRETAIN setting in the top file, perhaps XREFOVERRIDE command is need too.

sorry, I maybe I am not clear enough.😶
I have a reflected ceiling plan which I drew some spotlights on a xref floor plan with furniture.
When plotting the drawing, I want the spot lighting show in black line and the furniture (in xref) show is grey line in order to make sure it is in good location on the RCP.
However, my problem is when I plot the drawing, the line of furniture appears in black colour same as the spot lighting. So, how can I plot the furniture in grey line?
Secondly, any method to plot some solid lines in xref in dotted line? Hope it is more clear ,,,thank you so much.

May I ask, are you new to AutoCAD in general, and/or plotting from inside the program? I want to ensure my explanations are understood correctly so you can use them.

If you don't need a detailed explanation... You can change the color of the layer to be a gray that you can plot (RGB colors if the ACI colors 251 or 252 or 253 are not sufficient), or you can use a PLOT STYLE table setting to do that too.

here is an overview tutorial that may help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTcY-ptoa5A
