Switch to AutoCAD Architecture inside AutoCAD

Hello everyone

is it possible to switch to AutoCAD Architecture directly inside AutoCAD workspace, instead of opening the AutoCAD Architecture application in order to access the Architecture toolset?

I have never done this, and do not have time to try it, but if you have both AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architecture installed on a computer and you have run both at least once (so that the secondary installer has run for both, copying the files that it does to your Windows profile), you may be able to export an AutoCAD Architecture profile and then, while running AutoCAD, import that profile into AutoCAD and make it current.  That should get your main CUI flipped over to ACA.cuix.  If that, in and of itself, did not load the ACA ARX modules, if you try to run an AutoCAD Architecture command, and your AutoCAD Architecture profile has Demand loading of ObjectARX apps set to Object detect and command invoke (Options dialog, Open and Save tab, ObjectARX Applications area at the lower right), that should get the appropriate ARX modules loaded.

If that works, post back and confirm it for others.

If you install only AutoCAD Architecture, you should have both AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architecture profiles within the same program.  You can switch profiles during a session but I wouldn't recommend it since all the modules may not load correctly when just switching profiles.  If you have separate executables, then no you can't switch.

Something else to try...

Start ARCHITECTURE.
Use WSSAVE command to save the workspace you are using now there (and remember its name).
Create a new workspace called "PLAIN AUTOCAD" with WORKSPACE command.
CUILOAD the Plain AutoCAD cuix file and any other customizations you like using all the time.
Start CUI command to turn off the ARCH content from your UI, then APPLY and OK out of CUI command.
Save this new workspace with WSSAVE command.

Now you can quite starting an closing two separate programs all day long, just use the ARCH program all the time, change workspaces when needed.
