Currently use auto cad 2015 and autodesk 360 rendering, are there any other plugins or software that will give me even better photorealistic finishes?

Rending what?
How much do you want to spend?
BTW, this forum is for a specific AutoCAD version called ARCHITECTURE, if that's not what you are using you need to be posting way over there instead http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-2013-2014-2015-2016/bd-p/706

Totally agree although I've been using 3d autocad for 3 years and I'm
moving into my degree year, don't think I could learn a more sophisticated
software and become confident enough. My fellow students use sketch up I'm
tempted.

You dont need to know a lot about 3ds max to use it.

You modele everything in Autocad ( Architecture its faster) and you link your drawing to 3ds max.

You only need to work with material, light and render engine. i use Mental ray, its cheaper 😛

Lot of tutorial on youtube.

SketchUP is an amazing tool: many in the ARCH industry uses it and it would not look bad on your resume. Dive into it sooner rather than later.
