Redifined block with attribute breaks attribute field function

Hello,

How is everyone living? I have the the problem.

Situation: I have a block with some attributes. There is an attribute for column number and attribute for row number. Also, I made an attribute with field function that stores column and row attributes values. So what ever i change row number or column number the "marking" attribute updates it self.Attribute redifine problem 1.PNG

Everything seems to work perfectly until...

Problem: I store this block in specific drawing. So if i need this block i just insert it through "Design Center". If I edit block in the original drawing and then redefine it in working drawing the "Marking" attribute losses connection to column and row attributes. And then it displays: "##"

Question: Have I done something wrong? Maybe there is a fast way to repair this attribute so it will regain the connection to those attributes (I tried "ATTS" command but it didn't resolve the problem)? Maybe you could explain me why this problem occurred so that I won't make it again? Is there a way to redefine such a block so that it won't mess up my attributes?

Did you try using the BATTMAN command in the drawing, and re-syncing the block?

I have just tried it. Nothing changed. All attributes works. But not that one not.

But still, thanks for the idea Smiley Happy

I see what your doing now. I tihnk what's happening is that there is no column/row values in the new drawing for the attribute to pull information from, or you need to go into the field in the block and re-specify the table to pull the column/row data from.

I don't know how to re-define the field. So I ques what you mean is Update field. Autocad.png

Well it didn't help. But the strange thing is that it did help with newly inserted blocks. Before I updated the field newly inserted block was not working as well. The bad thing is that to Update fields and re-insert blocks and then  re-drag dimentions would mean to do all the work from the beginning....

One way around I found was renaming the UniqueMark attribute before re-defining the block. This way for some reason he dont lose the connection. But still this is annoying becouse i have 51 referances with this block that needs to be re-defined.

In your intial image, when you double click the "##" with the grey background, does it bring up the Field dialogue that looks like this?...

If so, post what it looks like.
