Problems freezing layers viewport in layout

So I am using AutoCad architecture 2020,

and want to freeze / turn off layers in layout.

The first way I tried is simply freezing layers in viewport.

This worked for 1st layout,

but in  the second a third layout VP freeze layers still show.

I do not understand this.

1) Who has solution for this problem?

2) Are there other ways to turn layers on/ off in layouts?

Thanks in advance,

Renée

P.S. after some testing it turns out the entire VP freeze function does not work anymore in layer properties in the drawing. Also not working anymore in the layout where I managed to set layers properly. restarting Autocad did not help.

Explain your process in way more detail please so we can all follow along: be very descriptive, explain each action and command used. TIA

Thanks for your reply!

There is not much to say about commands I use:

> Layout

> Layer properties

> VP Freeze various layers on and off

VP freeze worked at first but not anymore.

I am not aware of how else to turn layers off and on in  the layout, seperate from layers itself.

VP freeze: freezes everything in ''current viewport only''

So tried again and now it works again.

I don't know why I had the problem still, - I forgot to add the modelspace -paperspace thing, which is really important when doing this.

VP Freeze is specific to each Viewport.  Also note that paper space is a Viewport.  VPLAYER Freezing a layer in the paper space viewport will not freeze that layer in any of the Viewports displaying model space objects.
