Polyline width

I know this is a basic Autocad question, but I cannot remember the command
to set the default width of a polyline. I am working with an inherited
drawing and the lines come in really wide. Can anyone help? I've tried
looking in the help section, but couldn't locate it.

Thanks,
Mike Willis

"PEDIT" then select the line and select "W" then change the width.

What I'm looking for is the default setting so that when you begin to draw a
polyline you don't have to go through that step. I'd rather not have to
draw a pline and every time have to set its width back to "0".

Thanks for your help.

Never mind. I found it! It's PLINEWID.

Thanks anyway.

Once you've reset it to 0, it should stay there.

also, if you use the dyn menu, when you start a pline it says 'pick next point' or and theres a drop down menu. Click the down arrow and you have the option to set the width there. Gotta love the Dyn.!!

Enter plinewid at command line.

Then, enter preferred default width of pline.

Enter.

I am not certain this is per drawing setting or universal setting.

@Anonymous PLINEWID is stored in the drawing.  Each drawing has its own default value.

The AutoCAD Experts may have a different setting. I set polyline widths to
zero, and use the color of the entity to determine line and polyline
widths. That is what works for me.
