One of the first instructions of the first tutorial is wrong

I'm at "Exercise 3: Navigate the drawing" and it says to use the navigation bar, but there is no navigation bar on the screen of my brand new install of 2026, using the tutorial file of the house deck.

Going to help to look for how to turn on the navigation bar, the information is wrong:

1. Click View tab > Viewport Tools panel > Navigation Bar
2. Select or clear the check box.

There is no Viewport tools panel, or at least I can't find it.

How is someone supposed to learn the software if the most basic tutorials are wrong.

That is how I found it. Note that it is not where the official help says it is.

Also, the FIND link does not appear when you use the web based tutorial/help, which is where the tutorial was that i was following.

I know where it is now, thank you, but it just seems like they have left out some very important things from the tutorial, and have not done basic quality control on the help section. Learning this is hard enough without being led astray by incorrect help documentation.

There is nothing wrong with either, you just took a wrong turn, made assumptions that should not have. Nothing more.

PLUS you are watching an generic high-level instructional video, not updated for 2026 or for ARCH variant. Just look at the program's RIBBON to see the differences.

BTW that's where my screenshots are from, inside the program from it's own HELP bar, the one you should be using to follow along the tutorial. Looks like you just assumed online help docs are somehow better than the HELP inside your program. That FIND button is there for a reason, to help each of us find those buttons if we don't want to memorize the command names (See the screenshot that reveals that).

It's best if you take a class, in person, with a tutor, to ask these very basic questions about navigating the program (aka basic autocad mastery) BEFORE you start taking on this ARCHITECTURE module.

If you wish to take it up with Autodesk... these forums are not it, you want to do that at a different website, here is the link

https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

Best wishes.

I was led to that tutorial from within the software. If the software links to the wrong tutorial, then it is another example of wrong help. I made another post about another instance of the help showing something that does not match the software.

If the help and tutorials were well written and quality checked, there wouldn't be a need for in person classes.
