Hi,

From 2014 to 2016 I'm used to selecting streight line multileader and just intering the text I want to the leader. Now in 2016 I need to select in the command line Yes to over ride the default tect. How do I get this to default to intering the text I want without typing Y in comand line?

Thanks

The Multileader Style you are using must have default text specified in the style.  Clear that text if you do not want to be prompted to overwrite the default text and just want to start typing the text you do want.

One way to do so, in AutoCAD Architecture:

  1. On the Home ribbon tab, on the Annotation Panel, select the panel title to deploy the flyout, and select the Multileader Style tool (to the left of the Multileader Style selection drop-down list).
  2. In the Multileader Style Manager, select the style you are using (most likely the current style, unless you are using a custom tool to start the command that uses another style), and then select the Modfiy button.
  3. In the Modify Multileader Style dialog, on the Content tab, in the Text options area, select the button to the right of the Default text box ("..." icon).  The dialog will temporarily disappear, and the default text will be displayed, with the MTEXT editing bar (labeled "Text Formatting").  Delete all of the text, then select OK.
  4. Select OK to ratify the change and then select Close to return to the drawing.

You should no longer be prompted to override the default text when creating a new Multileader with that style.

At the Text Formatting bar, I'm nut sure what text to delete as I'm not
seeing anything to delete. Am I missing something?

If you have default text set, that text should display below the MText formatting bar.  Just to be sure we are both on the same page, I made a quick Screencast in which I place two Multileaders using a style that has default text, and then I delete the default text and place another Multileader to show that the overwrite prompt is not displayed.

[Screencast processing is a bit slow today - I will post it later, when it is ready.]

Note that the "edit box" (always disabled, you need to use the "..." button to edit the contents) will display Default Text when there is no default text set.  This could be confusing, should your default text ever be set to Default Text, as there would be no visual difference in the dialog.  If you are selecting the "..." button and all you get are the MText formatting bar and an empty MText string, then you should have no default text set, and you should not be getting the prompt.  Double check to make certain that your default text is not one or two space characters, which may not look much different from no text at all after selecting the "..." button, but in the dialog box, the edit box would be blank .

Good to hear.  For anyone else reading this, here is the Screencast previously promised.
