locked layers randomly unlocking themselves

any suggestions?

working along with a 3rd party Mechanical Duct package, using an autocad architectural background. go to move a piece of duct or even text thats located on top of a locked wall or door, and the wall which was supposed to be locked moves with it. have to undo move and go back into layer manager and all of the sudden all of my layers are unlocked. i use the layiso command to isolate various layers. just wondering when i un-isolate does it unlock all layers as well?

Are these layers part of an XREF? I can't replicate your issue otherwise, locked layers stay locked after invoking LAYUNISO

nope these are just regular autocad layers like A-wall , A-rm tags A-door. ill like them thru layer manager and start drawing ductwork. then erase somthing that ive drawn and the walls that are supposed to be locked erase also, i go back to the layer manager and all those layers are magically unlocked.

I have a locked layer that contains contour lines.  When I try to move objects in another layer, the selected contours will move and afterward the layer is no longer locked.  I have done this multiple times and the layer always unlocks itself when I try to move the objects instead of telling me that the locked objects cannot be moved.

What program or other variant of AutoCAD were your contours created it?
How are you doing "...move objects in another layer..." and what is the relationship to the contours layer?
