linetype for xref showing up incorrectly on one installation of ACAD

My office has several computers running AutoCAD Architecture 2018 but only one is showing the linetype for an xref incorrectly. The issue appears to be that one PC shows the linetype assigned to the xref instead of the linetypes assigned to the layers in the original construct even though the referenced construct is assigned to layer 0. I'm guessing there is a system variable/option that's different since it shows correctly on the other PCs but I can't figure out what it is. Visretain for all PCs is set to 1 but oddly the one computer having issue with can't use visretainmode.

I've attached some pictures from 2 different PCs opening the same file to help show the issue.

Correct.JPG - Is from an PC working correctly and shows the demo walls as dashed in the View

Problem.JPG - Is from the problem PC and the Demo xref is taking on the continuous linetype of layer 0

Override.JPG - Is from the problem PC and I've changed the linetype to dashed in the properties palette to show it affects the entire reference.

Welcome to the community!

At the command line, type ABOUT and press the ENTER key.  Do this on all machines.  What AutoCAD Architecture product versions are you running?

There was an issue with the initial release of AutoCAD Architecture 2018 that caused ByLayer AEC objects in an external reference to display based on the properties of the layer on which the external reference was inserted, rather than the layer of the parent AEC object.  This was fixed in the 2018.0.1 Update.  Based on your description, I would guess that the problem machine is the out-of-the-box installation (no AutoCAD Architecture updates), while the ones that work properly have at least 2018.0.1 (or later).

Thanks David, that's exactly what was happening.

Now the bigger issue is how I go about updating that machines version of 2018. We have stand-alone commercial licenses and I can't seem to find a way to update without having a subscription. Any idea?

Type in your request in the space provided on that webpage, wait for a response, if no link/info for your software is offered type CHAT to speak with an agent, if you have a valid license they will give you a download link for it.

Find and reach our to Autodesk resellers in your region, maybe they have something?

I appreciate the pointing me in the direction of possible solutions.

Sadly, the old products page under the Autodesk account that purchased these licenses doesn't show anything and AVA.autodesk.com redirects to a www.autodesk.com/education/support where I wasn't able to find the a space to type in my request.

But, that still leaves finding another site that has the update available or contacting a reseller.
