Layer that should be continuous lines showing up as dashed

Hi-

I've inherited the attached file for my lighting class.  In trying to add new lines under the AI-electrical layer I always get a dashed line despite the properties saying it is a continuous line by layer.  I've tried updating the LTSSCALE to 1...PSLTSCALE to 1 and MSLTSCALE to 1 to no avail.  can you please help?

Hi

Is the AI-electrical layer active while drawing the lines?  In the Layer dialog box>>is continuous line type set to AI-electrical Layer?

Please attach the drawing if the above suggestion doesn't help.

Thanks,

If your layer is set to the Continuous linetype, the next thing to check is the current default linetype.  Is it set to ByLayer?

You can check (and, reset to ByLayer, if needed) by opening the Properties palette and, with nothing selected, check the value of the Linetype property.  If the value is not ByLayer, use the pull-down list to change it to ByLayer.

Or, you can type -LINETYPE at the command line (note the hyphen at the beginning of the command name), and then choose the Set command option.  If the default is not ByLayer, type bylayer and press the ENTER key twice.

Check the annotation scale to make sure that the linetype your drawing can be properly displayed.

Also, is your linetype compatible with the template you are using.

Metric templates with using imperial linetypes will give odd results, same with imperial templates with using metric linetypes.

"type -LINETYPE at the command line (note the hyphen at the beginning of the command name), and then choose the Set command option.  If the default is not ByLayer, type bylayer and press the ENTER key twice."

Thanks.
I'm working on a drawing started by others and couldn't figure out why every layer had dashed lines even though the layer showed the line type as continuous.
