Welcome to the community!

What object type is the object that appears as a rectangle in what I assume is a Top view direction?  You may be able to use the UCS command, choosing the OBject option at the Command Line, and then selecting the object on the line segment that you want as your reference, near one end of the segment.  That will change the current USC to have the X-axis parallel to that line.

It will work for a Polyline, and I see it also works for a box-type Mass Element or 3D Solid.

You could then move the object with ORTHO on (or Polar Tracking, assuming that 0 degrees is one of your tracking angles).

set ucs to object.

set gtlocation=0  this will set your gizmo to align with current ucs.

OR  right click on gizmo, select align with object.
