Having issues getting doors to show up

CAD Doors.png

This is a picture of what happens when I drop a door in. It just shows two blue lines, I can't move them, can't select them. It doesn't show the swings, frame, nothing. I don't think I've changed any settings. If I did, I didn't know I did. Please help me correct this! It's on every file including new ones now. Need to make changes for work, but cant without deleting the whole wall.

Can you post a sample file?  I do not have access to 2018 until later this evening, but someone else may be able to jump in before then.

Some things to try:

Start the DOORADD command, but before selecting a Wall, take a look at the Design tab of the Properties palette:

  • What is the height of the Door you are about to place?  Is it abnormally small?
  • To what value is the Vertical alignment property set:  Threshold or Head?
  • To what values are the Head height and Threshold height set?
  • Based on the answers to the previous three items, does the Door cross the cut plane?  (Based on your image, I would say no.)

Place a Door, or use the one you placed to generate the image you attached.

  • Change your view to one of the "Isometric" preset views.  Does your Door show in that view?  (Based on the lines in the Wall, I would say it does, it is just either entirely above or entirely below the cut plane.)
  • Can you adjust the Door height and, based on the Vertical alignment, either the Threshold height or Head height such that the Door crosses the cut plane?  That should give you the expected Top view graphics.

Hi @frickey95,

Did any of @David_W_Koch's suggestions in his post help you resolve this, or do you still need help displaying your doors?

If you still need help, could you post a sample file where the issue is happening? This will allow us to help you quicker.

Thanks for this , it was exactly what you had laid out in the first suggestion!
