When using AutoCAD Architecture 2014, I get this error intermittenly when launching AutoCAD Architecture 2014. I have submitted numerous error reports, and have done research into getting this error taken care of, but nothing that I have tried has worked.

Hi @calfcreek_2,

The solution marked in this thread is a general troubleshooting tip, which you can apply to any version of the software:

  • Check our Certified Hardware/Graphics lookup tool for your combination of AutoCAD and operating system.
  • Ensure that you have a certified graphics card and driver version that passes all tests (indicated by green checkmarks).
  • Sometimes there are several driver versions tested and/or certified for a particular card - try the newest one, and if still have issues, then try rolling it back to one of the earlier certified driver versions listed.

Here is a link to the list of certified cards for AutoCAD products on Windows 10, for your convenience.

If you don't have a certified graphics card for your combination of AutoCAD and operating system, then you can try installing the latest available driver from the manufacturer of the card (typically NVIDIA, AMD, or INTEL), or rolling back to a previous driver version if the latest one is causing the problem.

Are you running a single-user subscription?  Do you have the 5.1.5 hotfix installed?  See this Autodesk Knowledge Network article.  This does not apply to multi-user (network) licenses.

Thanks David.

I haven't actually installed '18 yet but was going to soon. This will help. Yes, we are using single-user installs.

Dear AutoCAD,
since I installed AutoCAD Arch 2026 on my new Laptop, I keep on getting this message and the programm crushes. Somehow it can't send the error report because of the company's firewall. The IT Admin has tried everything, repaired and reinstalled the programm. All in vain.

Please help me fix this bug.

@mario_camenzuli Have you installed these Updates yet?

ABOUT command in your AutoCADARCH session will confirm what you have installed. If not, get it from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Restart your PC afterwards please.

If that did not help... Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero): a restart of your AutoCADARCH is required for it to take effect.

Also consider turning off LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING variables.

If still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort, and start a support ticket through your subscription portal as explained here
