Display configuration problem / Display properties way of work

I am trying to move certain wall styles I created from one file to another with the style manager, but when I try to use the wall in this new file, the wall have a different display than the file where it came from. I also drag the material of the wall from one file to the other and here I notice that the "original" material display properties have many display representations in the main file, menwhile the new file have only 2. I can't tell why this is like that since I didn't do any particular editing in the material display represantions tab more than changin the hatch of the material. I guess the tab at the bottom of the screen where you can change the display configuration have something to do, but I can't figure out how it works actually. I guess the idea is to have diferent representations of a material and change them with this tab, but it doesn't work with my new file. I am very confuse on the way the display representations and the override works, maybe someone can help me out here?

Do you routinely create new drawings from AutoCAD Architecture template files (or template files that were based on one of the out-of-the-box AutoCAD Architecture template files)?  Doing so assures that your display settings will be present in all files.

You can use the Display Manager to copy missing Display Representations, Display Representation Sets and Display Configurations from a file that has them to a file that does not.
