dimensioning walls result in zero values

Hi,

I was creating a drawing couple of weeks ago, also adding dimensions. They looked great.

Today, opening the same drawing and all wall-dimensions have 0,00 as value.

So I did following:

- looking into the properties

- deleting and adding dimensions again

- looking into the dim-styles

Adding a traditional acad-dim (lower left side) will show a good result.

Any ideas?

What measurement scale factor are you using in the dimstyle? 

Are the problem dimensions AEC dimensions?

Looks like you have dimension units set to meters, although the one 1030 dimension value looks like millimeters.

Depending on the geo area you work in and what the convention is (Meters, Millimeters or centimeters) make sure that your

dimension style is properly configured.

The dimsions that are showing meters may have a rounding to a full number and that is possibly the reason they show 0 (zero)

If you need to use millimeters as per the 1030 dim, simply do a match properties to apply to all other dims in your drawing.

Hi,

DIMSCALE is set to 0.0000 and can not be changed.

I'm working with mm and with the FDS, syncronising stuff with Inventor. All ACA and INV-templates are set to mm. The normal ACAD-dimensions are working fine.

I created several new drawings with the same wall-style, freshly taken out of the style-lib. In all drawings the same bad behaviour, even when I was using the standard Meter template. (As far as I know ACA work best if I use meter as units, than also stairs are working directly.) I guess, the wall-style in combination with the AEC-dimensions are doing something magic normaly.

MatchProp doesn't work between standard dimensions and the ACA-dims.

My profession is Mechanical Design, so I'm familiar with AutoCAD Mechanical, which works completely different, than ACA.

Can you attach the drawing file again, I'll have a look at it tonight. (I don't have ACA available at the moment)

From memory, your file did not include any AEC dimensions.

Those two different styles were simple autocad dimensions which is why matchprop worked for me.

If you want to use AEC dimensions, you need to configure the AEC dimstyle the same as you would standard dim styles.

The adavantage is that you con format AEC walls and AEC dims to snap to certain parts in an AEC wall style.

MEP is not that much different than ACA and working in mm should work fine.

Hi Leo,

today morning I found, that arting a new session, creating a new drawing from sratch will give me perfect results.

If I open my corrupt drawing, and opening a former perferct drawing the wall-dimensions are set to 0. I guess, there is a systemvariable changed by the corrupt one.

I added two files, a good and a bad one.
