Dimension text is too thin and light

My employer asked me to remove the dimension lines because they were too distracting from the geometry lines. I tried to hide them by making them hidden lines. I did nothing to the font weight but for some reason, the numbers are barely visible now. I can't seem to make them bolder no matter how many different fonts I try, even Ariel which is very heavy. Any suggestions on how I can bring it back? I was so frustrating. I can see it clearly on my screen but when I create a PDF, the numbers are barely visible. Also, I can't figure out how to remove the lines altogether. I would appreciate any guidance here.

Thank you,

Emily

"hiding" is not done with a linetype change in this program, but you can
1) you an FREEZE the dim layer(s) as your boss asked in the first place and call it a day.
or
2) temporarily hide them with HIDEOBJECTS command, plot to PDF to share with the boss, then unhide them afterwards.
3) Set the dim layer(s) or dimension objects colors to RGB 255,255,255 then set their DRAWORDER to "back". Until the boss touches them in AutoCAD or in a PDF Editor that might still have them available to select.

You can select your dimension(s) and, on the Design tab of the Properties palette, set the Dim line 1, Dim line 2, Ext line 1, and Ext line 2 properties to off.  That will leave the number as is.  Set the linetype back to ByLayer, or whatever it was initially.

Thank you so much! I will try that. I figured out how to keep my text bold and lines thin but my employer told me to remove the lines all together. I'll see it if works for me.

Thank you. Wouldn't I lose the number too then? I just want to either see the numbers only, or have them with the line, but thinner and lighter than my geo lines.

Indeed it would: I missed your intent to only see the digits and hide only the extension lines.
