Datalink Cell Height Issues

We use the datalink for tables.  Everything about it works smoothly except that we cannot adjust the cell  (row) heights.  We have tried everything we can think of.  We set the datalink up so that it is not taking formatting from Excell.  We use AutoCAD Architectur 20016.

Hi @cl,

Thank you for posting your question here in the community.

You can adjust the cell height, as long as the height is larger than the text that populates the cells in that row.

Are the cells locked?

Can you zip up the DWG and Excel spreadsheet for analysis?

I'll be happy to take a look at it for you.

Thank you for following up. Through (non-billable hours of) trial and error, we figured out that we can format the cells only if we specify a range rather than naming a range in excel. We put into our CAD instructions that the naming the range is not functional and should not be used.

Hi @cl,

Thank you for confirming the solution here in the discussion. I've documented this in an article, to make the information easier to find next time you or another customer encounters this issue with datalinks in AutoCAD.
