Coords display Issue

This has always bugged me.

When stretching or moving objects the curser will often display something like

Ortho: 1.9995610E+ 02 < 270 instead of the feet and inches such as 136'-4" <270.

Is there a setting I am missing

"Coords" is set to 2, Units set to Arch with highest precision.

Using ACA 2012 on Win 7

Thanks anybody ...

AutoCAD allots a certain number of characters for the display of each element in the coordinates area.  Exceed that, and AutoCAD will revert to scientific notation to show the amount.  Large values will require more characters, and will revert to scientific notation sooner than small values, under the same circumstances.

"AutoCAD allots a certain number of characters"

OK thanks

Is that a variable I can change as a default ?

Guessing I just live with it.

In architecture I have never use the coordinate display, I simply turn it off.

This is not a fix but I did discover that zooming out and performing a regen results in larger distanced to be displayed. I have managed to get over 2000' to display by doing this. There also seems to be an angular component, at some angles it works and as you move through others it reverts back to scientific notation.

It is all driven by what your current unit and associated precision settings are, whether you are displaying relative coordinates (distance and angle in current plane, plus "Z") or absolute coordinates (X, Y, Z coordinates) and whether you have SNAP turned on and what your Snap Spacing is.  If you are using Architectural coordinates, you can have distances or coordinate values that include less than 10 inches show up in architectural units, and those including 10 or 11 inches showing in scientific notation (due to the extra character).
