Hey guys, we were given some .rfa files which I assume are revit files, and we need to use them in AutoCad Architecture 2008 - any way to convert or use these??
Thanks,

Revit Families? (aka blocks)

As far as I know, there is no option to import any type of rvt or
related file into ACA. My vote, is they should be exporting them to dwg
for you.

You might want to check in the Revit Arch forum to see if there are
users of both, and how they handle that sort of thing in-house (or
otherwise).

good luck!

I work with both Revit and ACA. Have the sender export their revit files to
autocad prior to sending them to you.

You can only export 1 file at a time as far as I know. However you can
export multiple veiws and/or sheets that reside in one file. In Revit 1
file holds a complete project, plans, elevations, sections, details as well
as the sheet views.

It works with architectural objecs. Just go to the File pulldown and choose IFC, import or export. You can look up IFC in the Help menu for more info. I've only used it to get the modeling objects, I am not sure about linework.

If you just need it for autocad then use the export to autocad feature.
Otherwise you are exporting to IFC then you will have to import the IFC file
into Autocad. Extra steps when you can export once and be done.
