Content Browser - How about some new content!

I don't use the Architecture component in my professional designs, but I do like to use it for my side residential work (which I do not do much of).  When I had my firm I used it all the time.  I feel like the content browser has not progressed at all.  There are so many 'basic' wall and other types of components that are still missing.  For example, there is a 3.5" stud wall w/ siding on one side and 1/2 " gyp on the interior.  Why is there no 1/2" gyp ea. side version?  We do not have a stud with rigid and siding yet and this is a very common practice these days (a lot of rigid options with brick though).  The appliances are still very basic.  I would love to have access to a great library of content somewhere without paying a ton for something when I think it should be a part of the package.  This product has been around a long time now and I feel the content has not evolved.  I don't have time to make custom things left and right (only to have weird wall corner conditions because I'm not that good at it)!  Any good resources that I won't have to spend a ton of money or time on?

@TomFallon You can always ask for new features and tools in future variants from Autodesk here https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

For most of us we have libraries built over the decades we all use: for a noob-to-the-software there might be sets you can purchase online and perhaps friendly peers willing to share with you what you need.

Finding another all encompassing residential software package (or add-on for ACA) is another way to explore online too.

Good luck.

Hi @TomFallon

There were some MvBlocks and Blocks e.g. Plumbing Fixtures, Furnishing, Equipment, Parking, Food Service, Lighting, Sustainable Design, added to AutoCAD Design Center (ADCenter) for the last few releases (ACA 2020- ACA 2024)  Please take a look at the design center and let us know other content requests as needed in the content browser. e.g. Wall Styles as suggested below.

@TomFallon

I agree with your sentiments and that's why I started my own library many years ago that has now become an entire suite of products.

Thank you for your email Odin.  I forgot about Archidigm.  I had used one of your products many many years ago (it might have been in the Architectural Desktop days!  They are reasonably priced and will probably be the ideal solution for me.  I just wish there was more OTB content!

Hi, just curious, can I use Content Browser for basic Autocad ?

No. But if you have an AutoCAD subscription, I believe the only way to subscribe includes Autocad Architecture unless you have AutoCAD Light (they call it specialized toolsets and it includes other stuff too). Login to Autodesk and view your products. Download AutoCAD Architecture. In there you can actual switch between regular AutoCAD vs architecture profiles.
