computer hangs while working on a specific file

Hi, I have a problem with my education software of autocad architecture 2018. When I open a file that I had created with hatches, trees etc. and start working on it further, my laptop hangs up completely. I am not even able to open task manager. This has been happening for the past few days. This problem doesn't occur with other files. I have tries to shut off the hatch and tree layers too but nothing happens. I can't even use line command, can't plot or export the file. I have also tried to copy a part of the file into a new drawing yet, this problem occurs. Need help ASAP! I hav Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Autodesk Community, and thank you for posting your question here in the AutoCAD Architecture forum!

If the issue is file-specific, you might be dealing with some file corruption. Have you tried any of the cleanup steps in the following article?

If the performance issue is more general (all or most files, instead of file-specific), you might also want to run through the recommendations in the following article, which help AutoCAD products run well on Windows systems:

If the issue is file-specific, and you've tried to clean up / repair the file but it's still causing problems, feel free to post the file here. We'll be happy to analyze it and make recommendations.
