AutoCAD Architecture - Railing-Post Cleanup

Is there any way to remove the display of the railings in the middle of the posts in plan view? Seems like there isn't, yet the railing do not pass through the posts. The stock display just seems wrong and I can't find a way to correct it.

Ok, I got it figured out. I went into the display manager and created a new "representation by object" for railings by copying the "Model" one which conveniently has the "disable cleanup of rails at posts" checkbox under other. I then checked it for plan and unchecked the "plan" representation.

Let me know if you need a better explanation. It's interesting to get into the display manager and start getting a grasp of it. Basically you create a second "model" view and then are viewing it from the directly vertical position. You then can modify what components are visible without affecting the true model view. Very cool as it applies to lots of other potentially difficult customizations as well.

Be careful of adding extra reps , it can quickly get out of hand.
Can you not simply alter the existing rep for rails instead of adding a new
one?
Archidigm.com shows how you could add two display reps for stairs as a
workaround for the poor display of up & down reps. Check it out and I'm
sure it will add to what you have just found out.

As my original post stated, I was not trying to add rails, but rather get the rails to not display continuously through the posts. With the stock "plan" display there is not any way to remove the lines of the rails from inside the posts without removing the rails altogether. There is also no way to even attach custom blocks that are scalable. The "custom profile" option seems to be completely dysfunctional . On the other hand, the model display rep gives you ALL of those features when set as another plan display. The swap of display reps for plan is a no-brainer once you've figured out how to do it and there is not any downside what-so-ever as far as I can see. It's the way Autodesk should have done it out of the box. Cheers.

There seems to be a few items that are set up as dud's OOTB.
Structural elements have some strange settings as do the MVB's
Perhaps it's just the different way of working.

Well, this gets closer at least. This view segments circular
components, and it shows a line where the guardrail segments change slope.

I am having the same issue. But when I check the settings in Display Manager/Representations by Object/Railing/Model/Other tab the Disable cleanup of Rails at Posts is not checked. Also when I check the properties on my railing on the display tab under General the Display representation is set to Plan and I can't change it to model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've attached an example rail dwg. Check the display manager settings and rail style settings for the following. I duplicated the model display to make Rail plan in the display manager..
