AutoCad Architecture 2013 stair tool

Hi. I need a little advise concerning the stair tool. When drawing a multi-landing stair with a 1/4 landing turn, all is good with no tread nosing. However, when a 1" nosing is selected, the lower flight stringer attaches 1" short of the landing frame and the upper flight stringer attaches 2" short of the landing frame. Is there a method to instruct the tool to ignore the nosing when determining the stringer to landing connection?

Thanks for your thoughts.

It's not hard to confuse the stair tool.
A possible option is just to draw the left and right lines and the treads in plan and then apply a stair tool to it. That often overcomes glitches in the auto tool.

Thanks for the advice. I did not realize that I can right click on tools for menu options. Nice to know.

Unfortunately, the custom L-shaped stair which I created from linework has the same 1" landing offset problem.

I am hoping that Autodesk realizes that they have a significant problem here and develops a customer friendly solution.

Best regards,

Yes I think you are correct. It overlaps itself on the inside and cannot handle it.
You may have to give it a short gap but if it’s not what you would do in the real world construction you never like to do those things just to make the program work.

Nathan,

Thanks for the follow up.

I am planning to upgrade to Architectural 2017 at the end of this year and am hoping that Autodesk has or will address this problem in the new release.

Fingers crossed!

Sorry to be pessimistic but I would give that no chance of happening.
And 17 is old in a few weeks.
