AutoCAD 2024 issue with remote desktop using MacBook completely locks up remote computer

I have searched on and off for a month for this issue and not finding anyone else with this issue or determine a course of action to fix the issue.

I am having an issue with only AutoCAD 2024 which if I open the program while working from home using remote desktop it completely locks up the remote computer.
When remote, I open AutoCAD 2024 I get to the welcome screen all looks ok.  Then I try and open a drawing either going to open or clicking on a drawing in the recent area.  The remote computer completely locks up immediately and the only option is to call the office to have someone to physically go to the desktop computer hold the power button in to shut it down and restart the computer.    There is no response from the desktop computer on either side.

We upgraded to 2024 a month ago.  I work from home one day a week right now.   I still have 2018 installed on the computer and if I use that while on remote desktop there is no issue for the whole day.   So, it is specifically AutoCAD 2024.   all other software on the computer does not lock up the computer.

No one else in my office has this issue but I am the only one using an Apple MacBook Air (specifically 15" 2023 MacBook air running Sonoma 14.4.1) to login to the office computer.   I am using a Cisco VPN and the Microsoft Remote desktop app downloaded from the Mac app store and up to date with all updates.    So it is hard to determine which part of the path the issue is coming from.    AutoCAD 2024 also has all updates applied.

Has anyone had this issue or know what I can do to determine where in the chain this complete lockup of the remote computer is coming from?

Greetings @Jeff_Collins_SOCE

This forum is not for AutoCAD for MAC users, but this over there is (and for MAC users possibly needing help, it depends on the folks over there having time to answer non-AutoCAD questions) https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac/ct-p/4051

This forum is also not for plain AutoCAD for Windows users, but this over there sure is https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/bd-p/706

This forum is for this software HERE if by chance this is what you are using for sure, then my apologies.

I'm not sure anyone can help, you have identified many reasons why the issue is likely just you with a MacOS laptop and nothing else. Perhaps a kind soul in the AutoCAD for MAC knows something, otherwise I recommend you try the Apple User Forums for assistance. But you are welcome to wait too.

Any reason your IT/company bosses will not let you install and use AutoCAD for MAC 2024 on your home MacOS device? That seems to be the way to go. Or lend you a complaint work-from-home device like everyone else in the office.

We all use our personal computers to login into our work desktop computer when working remotely.     I am the only one using a Macbook to login to a Windows desktop computer.    This setup has worked fine for many years.

We use AutoCAD Architecture.    The 2018 version has had no issues with the setup I have.   Nothing has changed on the home laptop, VPN, remote desktop software or the desktop computer at the office other than installing AutoCAD Architecture 2024.

The answer is probably I need to get a windows computer at home to login to the desktop running windows at work.
