i have a question of autocad architecture. i have been a autocad user since 1989 when there was only one

vanilla autocad.of course now we have what 8. im using autocad architecture book 2018 even though i have 2021.

so i imort the floor plan in np. i go to a wall type and ajust it to what it has in the book. np. no when you go to the preview you have that red line that seperates the inner and exterior walls. but i also thinks thats the insertion line so when you choose line work option it inserts on the line according to that red insertion line. now if you have a existing floor plan .it says select the outer line. ok but how do you get the exterior of the wall you picked to the wall you inserted. i thought maybe align like revit .no good., i tried 3d align  no good. the only thing that work were the parametric options.now is that the way to align the outside of the wall to the outside of the florr plan or do i mess with the red line in the walls?ive attached the file so i hope its more undersdtandable than my gibberish.picture is worth a thouisand words

Your attachment did not come through.

There are numerous ways to get a Wall to align with pre-existing linework, even if that linework is not at the Baseline of the Wall.  Perhaps the easiest way, prior to actual placement, would be to change the justification of the Wall to Left or Right (depending upon how the Wall was defined and which side needs to align with the pre-existing linework).

Another option, if you know the distance from the Baseline to the face of the Wall on the side to align, would be ot use the Offset options at the command line, after starting the WALLADD command but prior to selecting the first point.

For Walls that have already been placed, you could use the MOVE command to get the Wall where you want it (if parallel to the target linework).  If the Wall needs to rotate as well as move, you can use the ALIGN command.

I forgot to mention:  for already drawn Walls, you may want to turn off the "Allow general object snap settings to act upon wall justification line" toggle on the Object Snap tab of the Drafting Settings dialog, if you find you are unable to snap to the desired points on your Wall.
