2D section/elevation Edit in Place tab disappears

Hello,

I'm having a problem, just started happening. The "Edit in Place: Linework" green tab dissappears when I edit linework for a 2D section/elevation drawing. How to I get it to show up when I go into edit mode?

What version of ACA are you using? Looks like your contectual tab does not pop up.......

If prior to 2014 version check the RIBBONCONTEXTSELECT variable.

If version 2014 or later go to Options, Selection Tab and check the Ribbon Options

Thanks for the response, I'm using ACA 2014, usually a green tab pops up once I enter the line editing mode. Now the tab never shows and if I edit linework I can't save it, I have to cntrl-z back until before I entered line editing mode just to get out of it.

I am not certain why you are not getting the contextual ribbon tab, but until someone can help you sort that out, here are some work around options:

1.  When you are done editing the elevation or section, type InplaceEditSaveAll at the Command: prompt and press the ENTER key..  That will exit the edit mode and save your changes.  If you want to abandon your changes, type InplaceEditDiscard at the Command: prompt and press the ENTER key.

2.  If you select one or more of the lines in the edited elevation and then right click, the context menu will have an Edit in Place flyout that offers options to Discard Changes or Save Changes.  Choose the one that suits what you want to do.  Note that with no items selected, I did not get this choice on the context menu.

Check to see if refedit in-place brings up the contextual tab, you can also try block editior contectual tab.

If nothing comes up, maybe it's time for a repair installation or full reinstall

This helped tremendously. I had this issue before and there was a command and variable to turn on the tab. I can't remember what it was.

Thank you for posting here. From your screenshots, it looks like you have the ribbon minimized to tabs, and have a bit of customization added. Did you migrate these settings from a previous version?

If you fully expand the ribbon, are the buttons still missing?

If you did migrate settings, or make substantial changes that might have affected contextual ribbon, you can try transferring the Edit-In-Place: Linework Contextual Ribbon from the out-of-the-box ACA.CUIX file to see if that fixes the issue:

If this doesn't work, you might try resetting the program to defaults. If the contextual tab still doesn't display correctly, you may need to repair the program, as @leothebuilder suggested in a previous post.
