Options for editing values

Is there a way to have a keypad when editing a value? In my iPad version, I get a number pad when I'm drawing a line or rectangle, but when I try to edit anything, I basically have to guess where my finger will end up. The accuracy of edit vertex, offset, etc. are greatly diminished by the lack of number pad. Also, the windows version of the app doesn't even have an option for a number pad when creating an object. My father and I were hoping to collaborate on projects using this app, but he finds the windows version extremely frustrating, mostly because there's no way to control the size of an object.

We both feel that any time a value is to be changed, there should be the option of a number pad so the user can control how much the value is changed. Is this something that can be included in a future update?

we have other minor frustrations with the app, but the presence of accurate editing would go a long way.

Zoom in so your aim is better, don't be shy about zooming in and out. Way better that guessing. Otherwise an iPAD Pro with a pen is the best way to gain control back.

Same for the Windows version.

Future updates features are not pre-announced but the Windows version does eventually catch up with the iOS versions usually.

I do zoom in and out, but it would be so much easier and faster if I could just type in how long I wanted to make my line, as an example. I often find it's easier to delete a shape and make it again from scratch, rather than edit the shape I have. If I change my mind about the size of an object after the fact, I don't want to have to make another from scratch. It would be better to easily edit the shape I have. Additionally, when I'm offsetting or copying a shape, I'd love to be able to just type in how far away I want the new shape, rather than dragging it, because once I let go of it, I have to measure the distance to figure out if I've gone the right distance.

If the windows version doesn't get a number pad for creating objects soon, I think my dad may ask for a refund. It makes creating large shapes very difficult.

Additionally, if I must use a dimension to find the right distance, there should be a number pad when making a dimension, so I can be sure to get the correct distance. If I'm zoomed too far out, I can't be accurate, but if I'm zoomed too far in, I can't get the distance long enough. I should be able to make an accurate distance measurement at 2 feet and 20 feet.

The whole idea of mobile apps like AutoCAD360 is NOT to type.
Having said that, on iOS which I have in front of me right now, when drawing a new line for example a pop-up appears to ask about length and angle. Is that what you want? Same with offset command (after you select the line then select the side of the offset). Looks like I have iOS Version 4.0.25 from the Apple store.

Otherwise... it sounds like your dad is more used to AutoCAD on a Windows PC, like the rest of us use all day for production use. If cost is the challenge to do, try a freeware like DRAFTSIGHT that looks/acts like old-time AutoCAD.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for your feedback, we appreciate it.

We're also sorry to hear about your disappointment, we're working constantly on improving our apps, and on creating a better user-experience.

When you edit an object on your iPad, a keypad should appear once you tap the value box of the edited knob (see attachment). It should allow you to define an accurate value for moving an object or offsetting.

Here you can read more about how to draw accurately with the app- http://help.autocad360.com/customer/portal/articles/2332297

As for the Windows version- It actually should allow you to draw more accurately, using a keypad (See attachment).

We are aware of some issues with the new editing tools of the latest version (Like Edit Vertex), and we're working on that as well.

So I had never tapped on the value box in edit vertex. That makes a huge difference. Thanks! As for the windows app, it's the windows tablet, not the pc  version. So far, neither of us has been able to make a keypad show up, even when building a shape. I will check to be sure he has the latest version.
